First, the bracket is strong enough and that's not likely your concern. The concern is with the wall, how it is built and how to fasten the bracket to the wall so that the entire bracket/fastener/wall system can properly support your slab. A stone shelf needs support every so often regardless of its weight. A thin and narrow shelf might need more or different support than a heavier shelf, especially if people will be leaning or sitting on it.
